Skills and knowledge are the driving forces of economic growth and social development for any country. Countries with higher and better levels of skills adjust more effectively to the challenges and opportunities of world of work.

At present the capacity of skill development in India is around 3.1 million persons per year. The 12th Five Year Plan envisions an increase in that capacity to 15 million annually. India has target of creating 500 million skilled workers by 2022. Thus, there is a need for increasing capacity and capability of skill development programs.

In order to bridge this talent gap, ICA Edu Skills provides end to end solutions by offering skills building programmes by partnering with various state and central governments' departments. Few of the schemes are as follows:

Skilling India- Connecting Skilling with Employability

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY)
DDU-GKY is the skilling and placement initiative of the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India. DDU-GKY has its origins in the Aajeevika Skills programme and the ‘Special Projects’ component of the Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY). The scheme focuses on catering to the occupational aspirations of rural BPL youth and enhancing their skills for wage employment.
ICA Edu Skills and UPSDM have entered into an alliance to offer Placement Linked Skill Development programme in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Under this project ICA will impart training in the following courses: Accounting and ICT. The main focus of the scheme is to make the youth employable and getting them placed in organized sector. ICA in association with UPSDM will provide training to 9000 candidates in this year.
MANAS is an initiative of NMDFC (National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation) to provide employability linked skill training to the Minorities of the country. ICA has provided training to more than 1000 candidates under this scheme.
Rajasthan Skills and Livelihoods Development Corporation (RSLDC)
This is the initiative of Rajasthan government to provide employment to the urban poor youth of the region. ICA has opened more than 20 centres to provide training to over 20,000 candidates under this initiative.

To reduce poverty and vulnerability of the urban poor households by enabling them to access gainful self employment and skilled wage employment opportunities, resulting in an appreciable improvement in their livelihoods on a sustainable basis, through building strong grassroots level institutions of the poor. The mission would aim at providing shelters equipped with essential services to the urban homeless in a phased manner. In addition, the mission would also address livelihood concerns of the urban street vendors by facilitating access to suitable spaces, institutional credit, social security and skills to the urban street vendors for accessing emerging market opportunities.
Synergy with the objective of NSDC
NSDC was set up as part of a national skill development mission to fulfill the growing need in India for skilled manpower across sectors and narrow the existing gap between the demand and supply of skills. ICA strives to work with the same objective to fill in this talent gap.
NVEQF (now NSQF) is a nationally integrated education and competency based skill framework that will provide for multiple pathways both within vocational education and between general and vocational education to link one level of learning to another higher level and enable learners to progress to higher levels from any starting point in education and skill system. It is a framework to enhance employability skills of our students by introducing applied learning skills in integration with academic stream. ICA is imparting training in over 81 schools under NSQF.
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana is a unique initiative by the Government of India that aims to offer 24 lakh Indian youth meaningful, industry relevant, skill based training. Under this scheme, the trainees will be offered a financial reward and a government certification on successful completion of training and assessment, which will help them in securing a job for a better future.
ICA offers skill based training, under this initiative, in the following sectors:

As part of the national skill development policy which envisages 500 million skilled people by the year 2022, the Government of Kerala has taken the initiative to set up the Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE) to administer and implement focused and specialized skill development programme in various domains right from the traditional sectors of the economy to the emerging domains of the knowledge economy.

ICA imparts training in English and Soft Skills under this scheme, to enhance the confidence of the candidates and provides placement thereafter. ICA will impart training and provide employment to 6000 candidates in this year under this project.
